BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Name of project:
Proposed township establishment of Rietvlei development on Portion 1 of
the Farm Witkoppies 393-JR. (Reference: Gaut 002/05-06/1813)
Project description: Proposed township establishment consisting
of School, Lodge, Reservoir, Sewerage package plant, 700 residential
stands, Equestrian centre with horse stables, Commercial farming with
cows, sheep, pigs, chicken, horses, Small dams with fishing, Clubhouses
with sports facilities, Upgrading of provincial roads, Upgrading of
services In terms of Notice No. R 386 (Refer to Table 1 below):R.386,
21 April 2006 Activity 1 (a) The generation of electricitywhere the
electricity output is more than 10 megawatts but less than 20 megawatts
R. 386, 21 April 2006 Activity 1 (k) The bulk transportation of sewage
and water, including storm water, in pipelines with (i) an internal
diameter of 0,36 m or more; or (ii) a peak throughput of 120 litres per

distribution of electricity above ground with a capacity of more than

of Rietvlei Nature Reserve, to the east of R21 and the western boundary
