Notification is herewith given in terms of section 4(6) of the regulations
published in Government Notice No.1183 under Section 26 of the Environmental
Conservation Act 73 of 1989 of the intent to carry out the following activity:
Activity:
A Resort Development at Rietvlei Dam, Tshwane; the development will
involve the establishment of:

A Restaurant
-
Tea Garden deck
-
Curio Shop
-
A new Lapa
-
30 Overnight Chalets
-
Formalised Camping and Caravan Sites (incl. the upgrading of existing ablution
facilities)
-
Site specific outdoor leisure facilities
-
Internal access roads and parking
-
Landscaping
Associated infrastructure services. The developments will be completed
in phases (exact phasing still to be finalised).
Description:

Location: North western edge of the Rietvlei dam (a portion of portion
11 of the farm Rietvlei 377 JR), Pretoria The Rietvlei Dam Reserve is located
adjacent (south of) the M31 road, approximately 15km to the south east
of the Pretoria city centre, and falls within the Tshwane Municipal area.area.

Physical Characteristics: The southern portion (two thirds) of the
farms is a relatively flat savannah/grassveld type landscape. No permanent
rivers occur on the farm.

Land Uses: The farm is currently zoned as ‘undetermined’, and consists
of an existing small informal resort and uncultivated land. The proposed
resort area to be developed is horseshoe-shaped around part of the Rietvlei
Dam. The property on the eastern boundary is a Game Viewing Reserve, and
the property to the west currently undeveloped land. Waterkloof Small Holdings
are located some distance to the north, and the farm is bounded by the
Rietvlei Dam in a southerly direction.

person, before the 10th April 2005. Please indicate if you interested in

overnight chalets, formal camping and caravan sites, a restaurant, tea
garden, lapa, curio shop, parking, site specific leisure activities, internal
roads, landscaping and associated infrastructure and services.
