Opportunity Driven Multiple Access (ODMA) - INDEX

Background: Opportunity Driven Multiple Access (ODMA) is packet radio system based on a multi-hop technology where the data packets are relayed via other user terminals on their way to the base station. ODMA was originally developed by a South African company called Salbu. Together with Vodafone and to a lesser extent Siemens, Salbu introduced ODMA to ETSI SMG2 in 1996 as a proposition for the 3rd Generation (3G) mobile network.
